Change Your Duvet Cover, Shampoo And Clothes Conditioner To Reduce Skin Irritation

by mikek

Do you have sore red skin that can be itchy at times? You might need to think about changing some things in your life which could be causing this skin irritation. Your washing powder might be to blame, especially if the itching started after you switched brand. On the other hand, your bed linen could be irritating your skin due to the manmade fibres found in many sets of duvet covers. Or, you might need to switch your shampoo, conditioner or shower gel, as these can also cause allergic reactions which can lead to sore skin.

New washing powder products that are introduced to our skin can cause irritation. You might experience a red rash or itchiness after wearing washed clothes or using towels. If you have experienced a red itchy rash ever since you switched from daz to ariel, I would advise switching back or trying a different brand.

Your sheets can do more damage to your skin and hair than you might think. Sleeping on poor quality bed linen can cause skin irritation as well as ageing and mild hair loss. Try switching to 100% cotton sheets, or you could try silk and satin materials for you duvet cover. You are less likely to experience rubbing and pulling of the skin whilst in bed with these materials. You can find a double duvet cover in 100% cotton or silk from as little as £10 from good retailers.

You may have seen in magazines and newspapers stories of allergic reactions to shampoos and hair dyes. Whilst it is unlikely that you will suffer a very serious reaction, you might become irritated by a new shampoo or shower gel you use. You can become affected by your bath/shower products if they use natural or manmade ingredients because our skin is not used to them, so don’t continue using a product that is making your skin itchy.

Your doctor will be able to identify the cause of your skin irritation if it continues once you have changed all these things mentioned above.
