In our world of time crunches, we manage to find time to notice our children’s life patterns, the growing patterns of our plants and even the schedule and pattern of our next door neighbors, but we can not seem to find the time to notice our own personal patterns. Our personal development does not stop because we grow older. On the contrary, it should grow and expand as we become more wise.

Stay positive. One of the most important things to remember in personal development is to stay positive. Opening your eyes to the world and seeing the things around you that are blessings is the best way to greet life head one. Waking with a smile on your face will make the world a better place.

Setting a few goals. Goal setting is truly an important part of life. It teaches us follow through and offers our minds a little happiness boost. When setting goals it is important to write them down so you can see when they are complete. This tangible completion is at the heart of the happiness. Once you are able to cross those goals off the list, you can actually feel as though you are growing personally and developing emotionally.

Being aware of you. Working on self awareness is one of the most important parts of personal development. That awareness means taking a step back and looking at the choices and decision you make every day. These decisions are like an open window through which you can view your own life and see what changes need to be made.

Managing time. Time management is a personal development goal that everyone from the mom at home to the COO of a large corporation can benefit from. When you time is in your hands, you will be more apt to control your own life.

Time management leads us to balance. It is constant work to maintain balance between career and home, work and play, spouse and parent, etc. Plan more. Allow time for each role you play in life and stick to it.

Returning home. When you feel as though you have not focused enough on yourself, eating right, exercise and learning to treat yourself can mean all the world. These three parts of personal development will have the largest impact on YOU!

You are not too old to begin again and learn from the mistakes that have made you wise. Personal development means taking a step back and learning more about you, focusing on that knowledge and changing those little mistakes into successes.
